Tapered roller bearings mainly carry the combined loads basically on radial loads. The carring capacity increases with the increasing of the raceway angle. These beairngs are separable. They can classified into single row, double row, four low tapered roller bearings according to the row number of the rolling element. The clearance of the single row tapered roller bearings must be adjusted by the buyers during mounting, but the double row and four low ones neednt, for theire clearances have been set before leaving factory in accordance with the requirement of the buyers.

Tapered roller bearings have tapered inner and outer ring raceways, between which there are tapered tapered rollers. The projective lines of all tapered surfaces are meet at the point on the bearing axes. This design enables the tapered roller bearings be suitable for carrying combined loads. The axial load carrying capacity increases with the contact angle (α).

Tapered roller bearings are commonly separable, that is to say, the inner ring with rollers and cage assembly can be mounted separately from the outer ring.
